Urban Innovations, River North Based Real Estate Company, Honored as One of the Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For the Fourth Year in a Row.

Urban Innovations (UI) has been named one of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2009. This is the fourth year in a row Urban Innovations has been honored with this award.

This award was given by the National Association of Business Resources (NABR) during an awards ceremony on August 10, 2009 at the Chicago Marriott in Oak Brook, Illinois. NABR states; “The 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For awards were established to honor those companies that recognize employees as their greatest asset. These are companies that work with imaginations and conviction to create organizational value and business results through their policies and best practices in human resource management.” Evaluation categories consisted of many items including culture, communications, training, compensation, benefits, recruiting, and community initiatives.

Scott Zatt, Director of Human Resources for UI said, “We listen carefully to our employees and with the full support of ownership we provide a productive workplace that allows for work-life balance.”

While this award does not give individual rankings for each of the winners UI is proud to be a part of this elite group of businesses which consist of companies such as Verizon Wireless, Gety Images and Turner Construction.

UI is a 28 year-old real estate investment company. The company currently employs 150 employees in various locations. UI acquires properties for our investors, redevelops the properties with our in-house construction group and manages the properties with our in-house property management group. Our current portfolio consists of 9 commercial loft buildings in Chicago’s River North area and 30 affordable senior housing properties throughout the country.
